The C.A.R.E. Board would like to thank the sponsors, donors, participants, chefs, wineries and countless volunteers for helping to make our second annual Taste of Camano a smashing success. The participants and volunteers are too many to name, but we would like to offer special appreciation to Greg and Lisa McCammond, who organized so much of the food, layout and wine pairings, to the Camano Senior and Community Center, and to our major sponsor, Angel of the Winds Casino. We thank all of the community who continues to amaze us with their support, so many folks who offered auction items without being asked, or other means of support that enabled us to raise over $6500!!! C.A.R.E. will be able to pay off its attorney bill and restore its reserves for future activities. Most importantly, a fantastic time was had by all. We also thank the Everett Herald and Stanwood Camano News for their support in advertising the event. This is a great community, and it certainly showed that evening. Allison would like to give a special thanks to Sole Switzer, Larrie Adamson, Joan Schrammeck, Tammy Finn, and Carolyn Ehret who spent so many hours organizing the financing, the tickets, advertising, the auction, the vendors and the set up; and also our set up and event committee who did such a fantastic job with the evening set up and execution: Karen Kelly, Joyce Dunn, Doug and Ruth Fries, and Skip Ingraham, Chris and Elaine Richards. Thanks also to our auctioneer Chris Richards, and to Cynthia Walcker for manning the front door both this year and last! A special thanks and Happy 70th Birthday to Dick Switzer, for his delicious oysters. Please support all our local businesses which contributed their wares to our event.
